Brass Band Association. This site hopes to provide its visitors
and member bands with some information about our organisation, details of coming
events, entry forms, contact information, maps, timings, - whatever people will
find useful. If you would like to see something on

to the brand new website of the Leicestershire Brass Band Association. Our website
may be new, but we are certainly not a new association. Recalling a conversation
that I had many years ago with the legendary Mr. Charles Moore who along with
Mr. Hedley Batchelor, founded our association, I believe that we were the first
association formed in the country. As you will see in the information on this
site, we are a very active association too. Although our early days are not well
documented, I do know the first association Band Contest was held in 1926 and
Richard Warren who is now in his 90th year played with the Croft band at that
contest. I would confidently date our formation having been in the very early
1920's. I do hope you enjoy our new website"
