...and a formal welcome:
"Welcome to
the brand new website of the Leicestershire Brass Band Association. Our
website may be new, but we are certainly not a new association. Recalling a
conversation that I had many years ago with the legendary Mr. Charles Moore
who along with Mr. Hedley Batchelor, founded our association, I believe
that we were the first association formed in the country. As you will see
in the information on this site, we are a very active association too.
Although our early days are not well documented, I do know the first
association Band Contest was held in 1926 and Richard Warren a previous
president of this organisation played at this event with the Croft band. I
would confidently date our formation having been in the very early 1920's.
I do hope you enjoy our new website"
